Popular Ice Fishing Destinations
North America

I can't possibly list all of the great ice fishing destinations worldwide, but I can list a few with outstanding reputations, in case you are planning on taking a little ice fishing road trip and are looking for a new place to discover.
Maybe you have always wanted to check out the Lake of the Woods and would like to experience a few other destinations along the way.
It doesn't really matter where you're coming from, there are an abundance of choices along the way. I'm glad we have lots of choices, but it's overwhelming when trying to narrow it down to just a few.
We are taking a trip to Milwaukee, WI to try to catch some Steelheads and Seeforellen Browns through the ice around Milwaukee Bay on Lake Michigan. We plan on spending several days trying for large trout, before checking out a few more places in Wisconson and Minnesota.
I'm having a very difficult time trying to narrow it down to just a few destinations. I have always wanted to ice fish some of the bigger bodies of water up north, like Lake of the Woods, and the Bay of Quinte on Lake Ontario, but I doubt we'll get that far this time, as I hear Mille Lacs and a couple of smaller lakes calling...
Final plans will probably not be pinned down until we are actually on the road.
My goal with this page, is basically to get YOUR mind on a few of the possibilities, so that you get out your bucket list and get back to making the most of your time here.
This compilation ice fishing destinations is merely a primer to get you to do some digging on your own to find hidden treasures in an area of interest.
As I do my own research, both on the road and online, I will be adding links to useful websites dedicated to many of these ice fishing destinations. I will select sites offering 'HomeGrown' & Insightful information. Like this one...Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire
NOTE: If you have a website for a guide service, resort, chamber of commerce, DNR, or whatever, and would like your link to appear on this page, (or elsewhere on www.ice-fishing-central.com, just shoot me an email... and we'll make it happen. coryw@ice-fishing-central.com
